Celebrating Summer: Painting Immersion Workshop at the Morean Arts Center

Using their choice of acrylics, oils, water soluble oils and mixed media, students will learn various painting techniques such as color blocking, blending, shading, over-painting and direct color application, basic color theory and composition as well as a variety of mixed media techniques including collage and montage. Participants will consolidate information and techniques learned, with the goals of creating more compelling paintings and, in the case of more advanced students, each discovering his or her unique artistic style. There will be a short field trip and demonstrations on a variety of media and techniques. The workshop ends with a non-threatening critique. All levels of experience are welcome, the only prerequisites are a willingness to let go of artistic inhibitions and to have fun.
